Data and Programming for Public Policy Final Project (Fall 2021)

• Created an index in Python to score city-owned vacant lots in Chicago as potential candidates for green space conversion, including automating the data pipeline from the City Open Data API
• Built a database in SQL to store vacant lot information and scores, allowing easier access for city officials

Mayoral Fellow

• Managed stakeholder communication and a cross-functional team to develop the first employee-facing Digital Services Products
• Conducted extensive data analysis in R (tidyverse) and built charts using ggplot2 to investigate local government violence prevention budgets
• Drafted a new Data Equity Plan for the Department of Housing based on industry best practices

• Partnered with a local nonprofit to leverage grant funding worth $13,616
• Collaborated with a new nonprofit startup to provide handicap accessible bathrooms worth $4,750
• Fundraised $22,318 to supplement a budget of over $40,000 to complete emergency home repair projects
• Directly managed three staff members independently, including giving performance feedback and conducting evaluations
